Pros

Good Christmas parties and awards.

Cons

Work you to death, miss use of funds, never about the children.

First of all, thank you for 10 years of service. That is amazing. We are sorry you felt overworked and that we did not convey the depth of care we have for the children we serve. We are constantly working to improve and won't stop.

Pros

Victor has more than sixty years of serving the most emotionally disturbed children in the state of California. The work is emotionally and mentally challenging but the leadership and management staff of this stellar agency constantly strive to create a work culture that supports the mission, values, and the employees providing the much needed services. The agency has had only two CEO's in its history and this continuity of leadership has helped to ensure the mission and values of the agency are alive and real throughout the many work sites. I would say that Victor is filled with people who are dedicated to trying to make the world a better place, along with making the work culture a happy and fulfilling place to be. I have seen many examples of where the leadership makes decisions that are in the best interest of the employees, including maximizing health and other employee benefits while other agencies and companies are just charging more and more to their employees for these things, or not providing them at all. I have worked at five different agencies/companies in my career and have made Victor my home! There are always "pockets" of negative employees, but overall, the culture is one of care for one another, respect for differences, and a constant striving for excellence in all that is being done.

Cons

Because Victor is a learning organization, believing in the development and growth of its employees while working at Victor, sometimes employees who cannot do the job or do not fit with the positive culture are "held onto" too long. However, there is no easy way to know the precise time to help someone leave....I would rather be a part of a company that give employees a full chance rather than one that is quick to give up on them. So, even this is not really a con.

Pros

Supporting the community I serve.

Cons

There is favoritism going on, and management seem to enjoy conflict between team members. I often work extremely long hours, neglecting my own family, having NO TIME for lunch breaks, & being told to adjust my time card because I can't get over time. I do feel discriminated against, as well as others do. But there is no such thing as being able to complain fairly to director because I've witnessed the unfair results of voicing concern. Management is currupt, and you will not be promoted unless they like you or you are a favorite or friend. I've been working with this company for years, and thinking my work was appreciated, I was reminded just recently this company does not care about me, or my work ethics.
