Varonis has a toxic work culture. My first day started with my manager calling my personal phone to tell me to log into company resources with my personal machine because my work laptop had not even arrived yet. Over the term of my employment he would text me after hours to remind me of status meetings in the morning. As US engineer you will be left in the dark about what you are building, what your goals are, and any meetings that are held by the rest of your team, you will be excluded from. in the US, Varonis does not offer sick days if its not legally required in that state, and if you try to step away from work to go a doctors appointment, you will be grilled on it and forced to take PTO (From what little you're given) for the time away. They do NOT tell you this in interviews and do not mention the lack of sick days at all. I have NEVER worked at a company before that does not offer sick days. It is absolutely twisted and you will be forced to work while ill. While headquarted in the US, the software engineering unit is entirely contained in Israel, and I was lied to about having coworkers on my team in the US. All of my direct coworkers on my team were based overseas with a 7 hour time difference. This made trying to gather information to complete tasks and sprints a nightmare as you have limited communication time with anyone else, and most of the time they won't bother to respond to your questions anyway. The onboarding process is non-existant and you're thrown to the wolves on day 1, in a codebase that is an absolute mess, left to struggle and then you will have management breathing down your neck about how you cant get things done. Management will lie to you verbally so there is not a record of their lies when you try to confront them later, and then they will deny it over and over. Even the simplest questions over MS Teams will be responded to with "call me" If you are LGBTQ you are not safe at this company. you will not be respected and HR will do nothing to protect you. I have heard some of the most awful things come out of people's mouths at this company. Varonis will squeeze you like a lemon and toss you out when they're done with you. they will wave stock grants in your face to entice you to work here, and then fire you before the stock can vest so they wont have to pay you a significant portion of your compensation. This company is nothing but stress and anxiety. Avoid this company like the plague.
