Pros

None unless you're one of the very few making over 6 figures, and even then the only benefit would be the 6 figures.

Cons

Don't fall for the hype. This company doesn't care about people in any way, including it's own staff. This is a purely predatory company that is destroying any aspect of what made the ski industry fun. Expect to work in a constantly stressful environment. No upward motion. The companies that provide their benefits are scams, especially the alleged legal benefit. There is no more local HR, so don't ever plan on a useful conversation if you're having an issue, internal or external. You're going to submit this through the network to a person in another state that doesn't know or care about you any more than another stranger on the street. In the end, and it comes for all with time (which may vary admittedly), you will be used, abused, and disposed of. A lot of short sighted people reference the ski pass perks. If this is the depth of your thinking in accepting a job, Vail Resorts wants you! Don't plan on using it much though between working 3 jobs to survive, blackout dates, etc, etc... If you hear the words "Lifestyle Change", know that doesn't mean a better lifestyle. You're going to move to an overpriced area where the pay is below average, and your employer is going to attempt to make a profit off you while feeding you endless nonsense about employee experience. This could be continued for pages... Don't be gullible and fall for the employment marketing hype, because that's all it is. They are marketing to you just like they are the customer, and don't look at you any different morally speaking when it comes to making money.

VAIL RESORTS IS A JOKE!

Business Outlook

Pros

Free ski pass, discounts at Vail owned stores, access to legal, counseling help.

Cons

Beyond those benefits the rest is a joke esp if you even “think” of having a career there. When hired you will be told of all the places you will go if you work hard so go out and crush it this season! Then you crush your job and ask what do you need to do now to make more income (and BTW, the income paid by Vail is the biggest joke of all) and progress. You will be told you need to prove it again one more season and show your dedication. You do it and next season you will be put off again and again till you finally just quit. They would rather hire somebody cheap every season than retain good employees from season to season. In short, no matter what Vail Resort you work at you will eventually be broke and in massive debt “just” trying to cover basic living needs. And all those benefits they proudly tell you about....well you can’t buy what you can’t afford so you won’t enjoy ANY of the benefits and they FULL WELL KNOW THIS! Find another resort or industry that respects its employees not just to pad the multi-million dollar incomes of the CEO and the tiny few at the top.
