      Pros

      VMware is an upcoming software company that has many new fresh ideas. The company treats their employees fair and seems to take care of them. The good treatment is reflected in the quality of the software being created. It makes the employees more creative and a much more fun environment to be in. Overall I have a lot of fun at work and it's not a drag to come in like in some of my previous jobs.

      Cons

      The company is still young and is trying to create an identity for itself. It's still in the I'm not fully grown mode but I want to be grown.

      Pros

      1. Extremely smart co-workers. 2. Very interesting and challenging work. 3. Very flexible work environment. 4. Great work-life balance. 5. Top class benefits (great health insurance, 401k matching, ESPP, etc.) 6. Employees are empowered to make their own decisions and have a significant impact on the products. There is no micro-management. 7. Innovation is highly encouraged and rewarded. 8. Plenty of opportunities for learning and career growth. 9. Merit based compensation and recognition of hard work.

      Cons

      The only downside of working at VMware is that Palo Alto and surrounding cities have extremely expensive housing. So if you are relocating from another state where you own a large house, you may be in for a shock.
