Very fast pace and at times confusing and conflicting directions First and Second Management Layers are not that competent - great engineers, does not always equal great managers Politics, politics, politics - to much of it. Sometime hinders getting work done

In the past and at this time VMware is the dominant server virtualization vendor. It's trying hard to become a leader in desktop virtualization and other areas (like email messaging systems and Java development).

Cons

Professional service management has no clue about what's going on because they're buried deep in legacy spreadsheet reporting systems trying to figure out how the business is doing. Professional services management over utilizes professional services consultants and then wonders why their skill sets lack depth. Americas consulting leadership is hell bent on delivering the best possible margins while nickle and diming field consultants and TAMs on simple things like meals when traveling. Our customers are tired of semi-skilled consultants showing up with a template for their outrageously expensive professional services consulting engagements.
