Pros

50% discount is the biggest reason to work for this organization. There are also some decent events and good people.

Cons

Disconnect between the business and the real world. Bend over backwards for non-exempt teammates for fear they rise up. Don't adequately deal with issues for fear it negatively impacts the brand reputation.

IT is a Nightmare

Pros

Great teammates and facilities. On campus gym is exceptional. Opportunities for charity work.

Cons

Started in IT at UA nearly 5 years ago, and have seen many changes for the worse and a few changes for the best in my tenure. Our newest CIO brought in an entire new crew from his old company and has turned a hard working scrappy team into a robotic and depressed silos. The teammates are great people, but the leadership leaves much to be desired. When leaders miss timelines or renege on promises there are no consequences. The company culture changed from that of a startup to a geriatric and slow moving corporation. It's impossible to advance in your career unless you are a part of the "Under Charmer" clique. UA was a dream job that has slowly turned into a nightmare.

Pros

Thrilling brand. The company is currently experiencing explosive growth and there is a lot of room for growth and to harness whatever it is that you want to focus on. Baltimore is a cheap and accessible city to live in. A short bus ride away from DC, Philly, and NYC.

Cons

Growing pains of such a company that is growing so fast. Creative process and management are far from being stablished as the environment is rapidly evolving and changing. Expect re-orgs every 6-8 months. Baltimore is not a diverse/eclectic city, it's common to meet people who have never left Maryland making the city environment feel a bit under developed not to say ignorant, in a big city context. Not the most exciting city to be a creative and to feel challenged.
