Pros

The management team at my store is the best group of girls, they care about their employees from what I see. The hours as a stylist are what you make them, it takes a while to understand but its ultimately up to you to build clientele and convert clients, even then I'm thankful for all my managers who have converted for us and helped us build our books. The specials seem like a waste of time at first but its what gets your clientele started. I love all my coworkers, good gratis, great GM. Its a fun atmosphere here in El Paso, no ones ever acted like they're better than anyone else.

Cons

Commission is not the best but better than hourly. Cleaning bathrooms is not ideal but part of life, we all have to do it. Late salon hours.

Pros

-25% off Retail Discount -50% off Salon Services -Relaxed Enviornment

Cons

Communication is horrible! At least at the Ulta I worked, they would send employees home early to save money, and if you don't live very close by it ends up being a waste of gas coming in! On more than one occasion I came in only to find out they cut me out for the day without even calling. Waste of time and gas, plus I canceled plans in order to go to work that wasn't even there for me. They take forever to set up the weekly schedule too and definitely only give out hours to their favorites. There was barely any training, but if you know a lot about make up you'll glide right in. The customers aren't too bad, and the environment is pretty relaxed. I would've stayed longer if it weren't for the terrible management and the lack of hours they give. It was weird that employees were complaining about not having adequate hours, yet they were interviewing for seasonal positions??

Pros

Base pay $8 an hour Supply everything but your scissors Walk ins

Cons

Base pay is less than minimum wage even though you go to school and have a certificate to be in this career...... They don't give you very much time to 'prove yourself' to them Part-time at its worse can be 10 hours a week. never more than 17 If its slow you get sent home Commission you can get isn't worth killing yourself for against the hourly
