Pros

Its a great place to work. You meet a lot of amazing people. Your check is always good because you always get overtime. The customers are great!

Cons

your work hours are never the same. Sometimes the culture in some of the locations can be very racist. Most post masters are great, but you may get a few supervisors that need more training. The carriers are rude and look at clerks as their personal assistants. You can work up to 12 hours a day with out any notice. 6 days a week is mandatory. and your days off are never the same. Ive worked as much as 16 days back to back w/o a day off. Most supervisors and Post Masters don't care about you being tired or having a family outside of work. There motto " The mail must keep moving". I you even mention the union you wont have a job. oh and you don't get benefits at all until your hired as a "career regular" which can take years. ALso, ou pay for your uniform out of pocket until you make career status

Pros

pay is really good, no-one hovering over you once you are on the road, friendly coworkers, didn't experience what i read as far as they were threatened because you would be taking hours, they were really welcoming

Cons

could be years until you have a set schedule, can work weeks without a day off. during the holidays you don't get the double time they originally pay you you only get paid time and a half, depending on where you are, the heat is unbearable because there are no AC or airbags in these vehicles

Pros

Going to sleep at night Discounts for being a postal service employee Holiday=days offs Overtime ( not really a choice )

Cons

Working 7 days a week wouldn't be as hard if you didn't have to walk miles a day but you will get used to it(blisters on your feet). In the beginning your Sup is going to expect the impossible and is going to let you know every chance they get how they can let you go. No matter how good your doing its never good enough. Overall it is very unorganized and things are never prepared. Also, in the beginning, the pay is not good enough for the load of work you will be doing. Your job is to cover carriers that can't make it in for whatever reason. You are replaceable and within the probation period you can be fired for any and everything.
