Pros

Are you Civil Service? Are you a veteran? Hired before the last 25 years? Then, you're good.

Cons

Mail volume will continue to decrease, so the company's greatest years are in the past. Relying on third-class mail and holiday mail volume can get this company only so far. Innovation would help, but the USPS is bound by too many restrictions to be able to compete effectively.

Pros

Great benefits Paid Holidays not competitive Nearly impossible to get fired. Relatively easy to get a job here. Civil service exam is not difficult at all.

Cons

Poor Management. The biggest problem with the USPS (budget concerns not withstanding) is the management. They tend to be very nepotistic and place no value in the employees.
