When I first applied, the interviewer went into a song and dance about how this would be a 360-day assignment with the post office. I was also told I would be sorting mail and would be working nights and receiving a shift differential. I had an interview at another location where I was told the same set of lies. When I arrived for the first day of orientation within the first few hours the instructor told us that we are here only for the holidays. He asked us if we knew this and the room was quiet. These PSE positions are holiday positions.They will trick you at the interview and make you think that you will be working for 360 days. In my case they even went as far as telling me after the 360 days I would be able to work for another 360 days. They are using these PSE employees just to fulfill their needs for the influx of holiday mail. I talked to other people that worked these positions in the past and told me they were laid off after the holiday. The last day of orientation, I was told I would be working with packages instead of the mail position that was talked about in the interview. When I reported to the peak annex location for my first day of work, the entire place was in disarray. We were told there was no water in the building and directed that the restrooms are the port a johns outside. There were no refrigerators to store a cold lunch. The work was backbreaking and very tedious. The people are worked hard to the core. They didn't even let me take one of my breaks because of the heavy workload. These practices are most likely illegal. There should be a lawsuit filed against the post office for the way they treat their PSE employees.
