Pros

more money then you know what to do with and great benefits. You will make lifelong friends with your coworkers. Awesome retirement. Keeps you in great physical shape.

Cons

It will be the toughest job you have ever had with a great deal of stress. No home life because of all the forced overtime. Most of the stress comes from management.

Pros

Well there is the obvious Pros, the hourly wage! And they earn every penny!!! Depending on what post office you are working for, you can actually get a pretty good amount of hours. You basically get paid to exercise as well. The co workers were fantastic and very supportive. You learn so much about EVERYTHING the USPS does and it really is impressive!

Cons

The schedule. It really is tough to balance work and family, but to be fair I was told prior to hiring that it can get pretty insane. So I cant say I did not know. The 6 day work week was pretty tough for me and the possibility of 7 day work week after the training for Sunday Amazon delivery (which I think is awesome for the post office!!! ) I do not mind the physical aspects of the job, for me I just need a little time for my body to recover. The post office I worked at gave me a lot of hours. With other options available to the public the USPS has got to remain competitive as well as profitable. So the CCA's are used to help offset the cost. If I had a fairly set schedule (okay to be fair it was kind of set mon-sat 9:30 to anywhere from 4:30 to 5:30) with 2 days off a week on average (understandably operational needs may dictate extra days) I may have been able to stay.

Pros

High pay rate, there are always plenty of hours, relatively easy work for a ware house type position of this kind.

Cons

Mandatory 70 hour weeks every week, but they will tell you that overtime is only required during the busiest times of the year.
