As a CCA I'm able to make great money, however this is not a company that inspires me to stick around for a 20 year career.
Pros
-Lots of overtime equates to great pay. -Able to enjoy the outdoors while earning money. -seniority list has some small benefits after you've been around for a year or more. -equipment is in reasonably good condition -learn the ins and outs of the city streets and mail delivery
Cons
-From the atmosphere of the station to the type of work being done, this is not a mentally stimulating job or place of work. -required to work 6 days a week (7 days/week during Christmas peak season) for 9 to 12+ hours a day and rarely, if ever, offered a 2nd day off in one week. -workplace practices vary widely from station to station. As a CCA, we're often required to work at different stations from day to day and when practices vary so much, it creates confusion. -poor communication from multiple levels of management regarding leave requests, uniform allotment and ordering, and other opportunities available to employees. -many lazy coworkers who are protected from an attitude adjustment by the union. -HIDEOUS, outdated uniforms. -largely uninspiring leadership who cares more about numbers than the customer or people they're leading.
