Pros

The Middletown Gateway is a nice place if you want to work on the ramp. Good pay, tuition reimbursement up to $5250 a year, experienced supervisors, etc. while more major benefits kick in after a year of employment like paid holiday, PTO and if you call off about 3 hours before your scheduled start time, you can still take the day off. Although make sure calling ahead of time or you’ll get a letter and 3 letter is automatic fired. Short shifts ranging from 2-3 hours for the ramp people unless one of the aircraft is grounded due to maintenance. And you get daily overtime after 5 hours which is not bad at all but it’s rarely that anyone from the ramp would cross the 5 hours mark. You might also get promoted to a supervisor or up if there’s any internal hiring available and go above and beyond your responsibilities.

Cons

People tend to be judgmental and racist who work inside the building especially employees who have been working with the company for more than 5 years and to add the people employed for a long time don’t like anyone coming in 1-2 hours before time even after notified by a supervisor. although UPS is equal opportunity the seniors working on the floor tend to be a lot racist and try to boss around.

Pros

Decent pay if you can stick it out for a while, benefits are good. Some good people that work there that make it worth it.

Cons

Lots of people call in "sick" every shift, management is disorganized, hard to move up in the company, massive turnover rate due to hard working conditions, constantly hounded to improve PPH (packages per hour) rate or else you'll be threatened with a write up. General poor working conditions a majority of the time that doesn’t get resolved. Constantly under staffed which makes work harder for everyone there, which is directly related to why turnover rate is so poor. Batteries for scanners were constantly an issue, broken scanners as well. For a billion dollar company you would think broken equipment wouldn't be an issue.

Pros

Lots of employees stay with UPS because it is a big company and has solid benefits for our union members. Lots of experience walking around so it’s easy to find someone who may know the answer yo are looking for.

Cons

Management is overworked and under compensated. I know that it sounds cliche but I am on call 24/7 unless I’m on vacation. This, in addition to the massive amount of items/tasks I am responsible for without much help from upper management.
