Pros

There's always some work everyday... but really this isn't reliable and it's not a good source of income

Cons

I worked in the small sort part of the warehouse. - The conditions are bad. It's very hot with pretty high humidity constantly. Requests for fans had been made to help with the heat but they were declined by management who sits in an air conditioned section of the warehouse. - There are no breaks provided and no chances to take a breath during your shift. The work is constant, a lot of cardio. This is fine if you enjoy tasks with a seemingly never reachable goal. - The bags that are used tear up your hands, purchasing gloves is a must if you don't want to leave with raw and bloody hands. Management does not reimburse for these gloves. - The managers on the floor in charge of you sometimes help, but usually only point out that you need to pick up your pace, even though there is clearly a deficit of workers for the volume of work demanded. - The managers directly in charge of you could slow the volume of packages being sorted, to create a managable pace for the workers, but they don't do this. This is a sign of incompetence. - UPS lures you in with claims that they will help pay for college tuition, but in the sign up process they don't inform you that you need to remain employed by UPS just to have the CHANCE of receiving reimbursement for college tuition. It's very close to scamming.

Pros

Excellent benefits, many opportunities to change positions or move up in rank

Cons

Firstly, you need to be able to give you any personal life to work here salaried. Don't expect to be able to attend major family events even if they are planned out in advance because a last-minute task may need to be done immediately even though in actuality it could wait. Long hours and the pay does not reflect the hours you actually put in. Little to no recognition for work well done but extreme criticism for even small errors. New ideas are overlooked and pushed to the side. Most managers will only follow corporate direction even if given data supporting a better idea or method. Opinions and ideas of hourly workers are not considered even though they have first-hand knowledge about how everything is working or not working. Not being respected or accepted in the field as I am female. Many managers (especially those older and male) treated me as a child and not as the accomplished engineer I am. I could keep going but basically, your life priorities are 1. UPS 2. UPS 3. Whatever else is important to you

Pros

Stable, Recession-proof company. Leader in the industry.

Cons

Lot of politics. Leadership positions being filled by tyrants who don't have respect from their own people.
