Pros

The job as a UPS driver is great for the benefits and the pay. Ups drivers are among the highest paid deliver drivers on the road and do not have to pay extra for benefits. This is great news for someone who has a family and the union fights very hard to make sure that drivers get the pay they deserve and try to keep management from working us to death delivering more packages that we can handle. If you work for them for long enough then you will have great job security because you will only get fired if you really mess up or are not liked very much.

Cons

Management breathing downing your back every minute. Will threaten to fire you if you are not like very much. Long hours on the road no matter what the weather is.

Pros

There is good job security. The insurance is pretty good but may be getting worse for management people.

Cons

What other company has its management employees making less money than the employees? This is comparing yearly salaries versus hourly wages for the year and not by the hour. If comparing by the hour the difference is far worse yet. The insurance benefits are relatively good for management but not as good as for the employees. It's great to promote minorities, but the company will overlook very qualified white males in order to promote someone who isn't necessarily qualified.

Pros

UPS has some great people as part of the team that you interact with on a daily basis. The learning curve is huge, so you are always challenged to succeed in a mostly positive way. There is room for advancing your career and you can move into different departments and you have some input in career reviews. The benefit package is very competetive. The day absolutely flies by because you are so busy so it seems like you get to see your family soon after you wake up.

Cons

The stress level is very high, and the monetary compensation could be higher for the level of responsibility that you have. I believe that most people feel overloaded withing their respective jobs. The training is poor. The praise and positivity is low when you do a good job so its hard to know how well you are doing with very little feedback unless you make a mistake.
