Pros

Helping children around the world Working with great people Flexible work environment (in terms of being able to work from home, schedule appointments, etc.)

Cons

Very limited in terms of growth/opportunity within the organization No consistency or fairness in terms of salary and treatment of employees among different teams (i.e. similar role on one team makes less money than that on another team for no apparent reason) Not very many perks/benefits like time off during holidays or staff appreciation events Minimal to no recognition for exceeding goals/targets Vacation time is minimal and impossible to negotiate more No transparency from Management/HR in terms of roles/salaries/performance reviews/etc. No clear direction/consensus from Executive Team

Run away from UNICEF Canada

Pros

Nothing unless you are from Civic Action, Rogers or any of the companies the executives are from.

Cons

It’s not really part of unicef, it’s separate entity. Toxic environment, say yes or see yourself out of the door. Restructuring and lay offs every four months. The CEO Sevaun has got her own people on top, with HR, Comms, and key positions taken by her friends. Employees are leaving without the job Unrealistic goal setting and lack of knowledge of the sector Zero accountability
