Pros

CTS offers a good balance between work/home time. Rarely did I ever have to work more than a standard 8 hour day. In fact I don't think I ever worked more than an 8 hour day and most of that was spent sending emails to my boss, my bosses boss and team members ensuring they had an exact record of my daily activities. Working a weekend was absolutely unheard of. There were many times where I was told that if I was finished with everything for the day I could take off. Of course that was when I had the one good boss out of the 8 over the course of my 5 years there.

Cons

Politics were rampant. I didn't trust anyone with anything I said and spent most of my time writing emails so a record of what I said, did and accomplished was available. I watched as many of my co-workers who weren't as adamant about keeping records were torn apart publicly for mistakes made by those who accused them. There was one instance where a particularly political individual called a meeting to publicly embarrass me in front of my peers. She was told by someone else that I had done something that I was not 'authorized' to do. In the middle of the meeting I interrupted her and the person accussing me of wrong doing and asked if I could be excused for 5 minutes. She said yes. I left, printed out copies of the email I sent pertaining to this issue and handed them out to everyone in the meeting. I was then called into another meeting the next day to be torn apart for embarrassing her.

Pros

Gorgeous campus, nice, dedicated facilities management staff, solid benefits (if you choose the right health care and dental care!), holidays, vacation time, a few days during the winter break are paid.

Cons

Bottom line, it's a toxic environment - a total plantation. The managers often don't know how to interact with people well and have very little emotional intelligence or humanity so you're dealing with what may appear to be robots a lot of the time. It's disheartening and disturbing. They'll also create certain restrictions for people they don't like with illegal practices. This place seriously lacks ethics. Read the comments on Reddit - they're absolutely spot on.
