Pros

Great benefits, long time employment, reliable organization to work with. Career opportunities within the University.

Cons

Department heads vary greatly; some supervisors are great others not so much. Getting raises or promotions are hard. They don't seem to be interested in staff retention until you bring presented with better job offers then they will jump hoops to keep you there. There is a 15% salary increase cap and the only way around it is to find different job title with a starting salary higher than the 15%, this is hard to do if you have a very specific career. You have to constantly move within the organization to continue to be valued and have career opportunities.
