Pros

Working with the student leaders and fellow project coordinators is a much more positive, uplifting experience. This may be a decent option for folks looking for an in-between role and is willing to be proactive, patient, and open to learning.

Cons

The main cons comes from being under the CPO Department itself: Disorganized management, lack of supervisory support from the department for both student staff and project coordinators, favoritism towards non-project staff, and delayed responses from departmental full-time staff (other than Business Officer). Besides the cons with the department, other general cons are: - Lack of ability to move up career-wise unless you plan on staying in Student Affairs -Inability to negotiate salary/raises even with a Master's Degree & higher + more experience

BEWARE OF HOUSING AND HOSPITALITY

Pros

It all comes down to which department you work for. It runs like a mini city. Some departments are way better than others and there can be a huge pay disparity between departments for the same job. They have ok benefits.

Cons

Whatever you do, stay away from Housing and Hospitality Services. The Assistant Vice Chancellor believes that he’s paying you out of his own pocket and is so stingy with raises. You can only get a raise if you threaten to leave with an offer letter from another place. Management is toxic and their belief is that you should be so lucky you have a job.
