Pros

The benefits of working at UCLA and UCLA Extension in particular are plentiful. Access to free or discounted classes at UCLA Extension and the possibility of completing a certificate program. Full medical, dental, vision and retirement plan are good if you stay and become a vested employee. For the most part, jobs are quite secure for existing positions.

Cons

The pay is not competitive and is based on state budgets. Even at UCLA Extension, which is self-sustaining. There are no bonuses. Promotional opportunities only arise when someone leaves.

Pros

The city is beautiful and the work culture and environment is very welcoming. I would love to be here more but somethings came up and sadly making me leave

Cons

The people who live in the city live in a bubble
