Pros

The company is very flexible when it comes to personal time. If you need to take a day for a Dr. appointment or meet the cable guy they are good about that. It's a good company to put on your resume.

Cons

Too much upper management, do not promote from within. Turner will work the lower level employees into the ground. Upper management does not recognize the time and effort put in by lower level employees.

Pros

Turner Construction invests in their staff. Turner University is an online training program that virtually has every possible training program in every aspeoct of construction. Turner goes out of its way to train their employees and often have employees travel on a quarterly basis for ongoing training. Being one of the largest construction companies, employees have a great opportunities to be exposed to once in a lifetime projects such as stadiums, airports, high rises, etc. Employees are very loyal to the organization.

Cons

Being a 100 year old company is going to have its red tape. Often times, you feel like a monkey filling out forms and completing paperwork. Its a double edge sword, the red tape assures things dont get missed...but your brain doesnt really get a chance to solve problems.

Pros

Turner provides both in-person and on-line training to all of its employees, the benefits package is good and many of the people who work there are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you can find the time and the energy (long work hours are common) to take advantage of the optional training, it will only improve your standing with the company and your hireability elsewhere.

Cons

Turner is a very top-heavy corporation, at least in the Northern California region, so there is a lot of pressure on those working in the field and managing the contracts to produce a large quantity of work to pay for upper management. Although many people have been layed-off in the past year, including people who only worked part-time, the operations managers and project exec's (now "construction managers") remain.
