Pros

IR is a very large company; however, it manages to maintain an environment of 'personal identity' through the way in which the company is structured. They use SBU's (strategic business units) due to their large diversification in many markets. Due to this business model, an employee generally felt as if they were heard, appreciated, and valued. The company compensates its employees well, and the packages offered are highly competitive. Anyone looking to go to work for one of their units will find a company that invests in its employees, never rests on its laurels, and is continually adapting to meet the changing landscape of whatever channel of business they are in. Wonderful company!

Cons

I really did enjoy my tenure with IR, so there isn't much that I can say as a con to seeking employment with them. I can say that they are Big. Very. And there can be times when an employee can feel like a bit of an ant or a worker bee in a gargantuan company; but, I have worked for another "Gargantuan Enterprises" (pun intended)- where feeling like an ant was an everyday experience- and not only that- you felt as is you would be squashed at any moment! Not so with IR. Their size can be intimidating, but you just need to roll with it, and make sure that you have your dancing shoes nearby, because opportunity is Always right around the corner!

Ingersoll Rand is fully committed to conducting itself according to the highest standard of ethics. The Company is strongly committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national origin, religion, disability status, or any other protected category. In addition, the Company provides a number of resources to ensure that employees who may have concerns can be heard including an ethics compliance hot line, Human Resources leadership and Diversity Office.

Pros

It is becoming harder to think of any. The retirement match continues to be good but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s on the chopping block soon.

Cons

The company feels like it is going off the deep end with strict, rigid and careless mandates regarding a return to office policy. They continue to double down on the fact that this mandate is to bolster culture and collaboration. In the weeks since this was first announced you can feel a noticeable shift in morale across the company. What was once thought of as a great company who values their people is now a corporate giant that is only focused on stock price and shareholder value. They have gone so far as to confirm that going forward they will look to source talent only from locations that can be onsite. If and only if talent cannot be sourced in this way will they open it up to other geographies. This is mind-blowingly short sited as one of the reasons they have good talent was their ability to support remote workers due to the global team set up. This company is going downhill and fast. I have zero trust in executive leadership and quite frankly am so disappointed it’s hard to get through each day wondering what new announcement will come. From the multiple rounds of recent layoffs to the return to office mandate this is no longer a company that values their employees.
