Pros

Peers are good to work with

Cons

Rude, Unprofessionalism, Poor Management, Micro-Manage, Conservative, Old School and Outdated, Blaming and Pin Point, Vulgar. 1) The management will need to go to Japan for a 2-years assignment, which is why they require someone who can cover their responsibilities. However, they did not disclose this plan during the interview, it was only communicated to the new hire two months after his/her start date. 2) They require someone who knows Japanese. Again, this was not mentioned during the interview, even though the candidate had previously stated that he/she do not speak Japanese and have no plans to learn the language. 3) The superior will review every email that you draft and send, and there is always a standard template to follow for each email, even if you have over 10 years of working experience. 4) The superior may take your belongings without informing you. For example: a) You may only notice that your power adapter is missing when your laptop battery runs out. b) The superior may grab over your notebook and write in it without your permission while you are taking notes. 5) The superior will engage in vulgar and impolite conversation. Aren't Japanese companies supposed to be polite? 6) When sharing these negative experiences with HR during the interview, unfortunately, the HR department seemed to be attempting to make excuses.
