Pros

Great atmosphere. Everyone is upbeat and super nice.

Cons

I am trained & certified to work in many areas of my store. I have come to work everyday upbeat, motivated, and gave it my all, and I received very good feedback from mgmnt about my job performance. So when my 1st Annual Review came up I knew I would get a decent raise. Ive also been battling a health condition that got pretty severe last year. The pain I felt with was unbearable at times but I still showed up to work and powered through every shift. After all my hard work blood sweat and tears, I was only given a 2% raise! Being a part time employee, that's comes out to around $5 per week. Needless to say I was devistated. That was the biggest slap in the face. Unfortunately, now I feel like my drive is gone. I've lost my "Mojo" t my last job I received a 50 cent raise after 6 months. The container store gave me 22 cents after 12 months.

Pros

Flexible work schedule, great discount on products, open and helpful environment, room for advancement, lots of training, good starting pay for retail

Cons

When sales slow down, there are major cuts to part-time employee hours. The company knows this happens every year and should plan for it throughout the year so that part-time employees are not affected so much. It's impossible to pay bills on 1-2 shifts per week.

Pros

40% Discount on products and gift cards, decent starting wage, health insurance for part-timers, interesting customers, cool vendors and brands, schedule flexibility

Cons

The company has changed a lot in a downward direction since going public, not much room for growth, raises are next to none, favoritism comes into play quite often, things vary tremendously from store to store, the warm feeling of the company has diminished
