      Pros

      Great people to work with - I enjoyed every member of my team and actually miss them... that's the only part I miss, though.

      Cons

      The constant hypocrisy... there were a handful of us that weren't necessarily 'laid-off', but we were given a chance to keep our jobs by working in the stores! Hurrah! Some of us had been around 10 years or more! Very demoralizing.

      Pros

      Great co-workers, both full and part-timers. Decent starting hourly wage compared to other retail sales jobs which pay minimum or just above. At the time, a great employee discount.

      Cons

      Management that was breathtakingly condescending at times. Hypocrisy in the stated values of The Container Store ("we love and trust out employees, you guys are great") versus actuality. For example, I was used to years of working places where I have the keys to the businesses and am entrusted with lots of classified materials and thousands and thousands of dollars worth of equipment. As an employee of The Container Store It was degrading to not be able to have the doors unlocked for us to leave at night without being fully searched. Also we were encouraged to skip legally mandated breaks, out the fear that taking our breaks would be used against us when deciding who would be able to get better hours or make it to full time.

      The CEO is no longer......

      Cons

      It may be too late to save what was once the best place to work. The FORMER CEO destroyed the original storage and organization store by turning it into a high end home goods store. I mean really, who is going to spend over $100 for a kitchen turn table!? He was a failure.
