Pros

Open communication, a very positive work environment, sure things are tough in the retail industry these days, but where are they not? The Container Store is known for paying store employees almost double the retail industry average, so it is very tough to beat that. For the past ten years The Container Store wins one of the top spots on the best places to work lists and that speaks volumes as those are anonymous surveys. The turnover is almost non-existent, and that compares to the retail industry average that is over 100% per year. The company has a lot going for it.

Cons

You have to like the retail industry and it is not for everyone.

Pros

The co-workers on the floor. They do hire great people. The co workers are the only reason you want to stay. You meet great people. Sadly they are treated like crap so they leave quickly. They start out like they really like you & want to support you. That all ends after your 1st week of training. Discounts are good, usually 40% off! NICE.

Cons

They do not know how to treat their employees properly. They only want 'coaching' when you have not done something right. they do not like to praise when you have done well. Don't even get me started on the multiple interviews you have to go on! What a waste of time to sell plastic.

Pros

Customer service is the best reason to work for the Container Store. We strive to help everyone who walks in the door and find what it is they need to organize any space in their home. Unfortunately, that is the only reason it has become to work for the Container Store. Things have changed quite a bit over the last few years. It use to be one of the best places to work but now since the company sold out it has become a hard place to be happy at. We who still work here hope for the best to happen.

Cons

Recently the Container Store started changing schedules. We used to be able to set a watch by our schedules but now they change weekly. It has become almost impossible to schedule a vacation or even have an extra curricular activity schedule because we never know when our days off would be. This use to be a perk for working for the Container Store. Now, it has become a nuisance. And we are suppose to continually check our schedules for changes when in fact that almost becomes impossible if you work part time, maybe a few hours a week even. It is our responsibility to call every day to check our schedule? Ridiculous
