Pros

You will likely work with some amazing part time people.

Cons

Corporate does not recognize the value of their employees. The new CEO, Satish Malhotra, has some odd ideas, he exhibits some odd behavior. He came to TCS by way of a beauty retail store. His claim to fame was getting them into JCPenny’s, for which they are no longer associated! The CEO, Satish Malhotra, does not care about the part time employees which make up the bulk of company employees. He does not care stores are dirty, some stores filthy, and certainly no longer neat and tidy store shelves and display’s. The CEO cut benefits for all part time employees which make up the bulk of the company employees. The CEO has cut working hours for employees. Thus moral is down. New hires do not stay for long, sighting short working hours, and lack of benefits, and in some cases better in all the above with better pay. TCS just had a huge lay-off. Why? Because the CEO doesn’t know how to manage!! Who wants to work for a guy who posts he and his daughter just drove a Lamborghini when his employees are suffering as their hours are cut, and many just faced a lay-off! Just over a month after the lay-off the CEO announced the company bought some type of carbon footprint monitoring software (just software). Note: Did not the CEO, Satish Malhotra, just initiate a huge lay off because money was short? And a month later, he goes out and buys this software! Research showed one company said they were quoted a monthly rate of $2,300.00 for their software use. They would then be passed along to another type of company who would come in and actually “help” with lowering the carbon footprint for an additional fee. FYI, the software price does very, from company to company. The software company does not publicly post their prices and pricing does very. The software company’s website states they hope to help reduce the Worlds carbon footprint by 1%. Whoopee 1% ! Again, TCS couldn’t pay salary’s and thus had to do major lay-off’s but they can pay a monthly fee to reduce their carbon footprint…, which is basically zero. He will now be hiring a carbon footprint clean up company to come in and reduce the almost non existent carbon footprint of The ContainerStore? The CEO, Satish Malhotra, has no conscience!! Why would the CEO do this??? To whom is Satish Malhotra responsible? He really should be terminated, let go, fired! He has ruined all that was Great about The Container Store. No more high Fortune 500 ranking because of the policies of the CEO, Satish Malhotra. Long time customers are aware and voicing their shock at how the company has taken a down turn. Inventory is very slow to get replenished. Customers get frustrated with TCS and are going elsewhere to shop. As TCS continues to skyrocket product pricing, customers are quite willing to quote how much and where they have found cheaper price for like items to go shop. And with the new CEO’s, Satish Malhotra marketing g strategy, gone are the Special Sales that drew customers into TCS. Special Sales that had them looking forward to those specific Sale dates. Special Sakes such as Christmas. Christmas was such a huge event for TCS. But, according to customer feedback the last couple years, has been a major disappointment in products of gift wrap, bows, tags, boxes, stocking stuffers, embellishments, containers for gifting food items, etc. Aside, Employees are required to use a software called Zipline. Zipline uses juvenile/goofy GIPHY’s, that I guess are suppose to, maybe, “inspire” us? That oddity does not! It is just distracting, irrelevant, It’s something a 12 or 13 year old might play around with for fun… As an adult I am offended at having those snippets shoved in my face. I don’t what Royalty’s are paid to use the GIPHY’s but please stop using them, let them go away!!
