I have never worked anywhere with such a high turnover rate and so many grumpy and apathetic tenured employees at the same time. Not sure what koolaid some people are being fed to stay for 10+ years at a company with atrocious benefit costs, no raises or incentives, and a skeleton crew of a staff. If you’re not killing yourself for the job and doing 2-3 times the work you should be for barely any pay you’re considered a bad worker. I’ve read that they’ve cut raises and promotions three times in the past decade, and then people are reprimanded for not being motivated. The job is so awful to do that they don’t even describe it accurately when hiring people so that they’ll take the position. They say there’s no money to hire more or give raises yet will turn around and roll out an assumedly high-cost mobile checkout system that is slow, glitchy, and confusing for customers. The products offered can be found at other retailers for lower costs. Putting the lack of sales on the shoulders of staff and making it their sole responsibility to fix while not offering them absolutely anything to do so is just gross. Not sure why the company has taken such a turn but save yourself stress and burnout and don’t work here

The new culture with Satish is one of feigned concern and empty promises. The emphasis is on a new checkout system (Mobius) that offers no tangible benefits over the registers, but the company has sunk thousands and thousands of dollars on hardware and software development. Meanwhile, the inventory system is notoriously awful, replenishment to stores is hit and miss at best and there is nothing you can do about it. All the higher ups just shrug it off. No raises this year. They are also limiting the discount on new items to 20% as opposed to the usual 40%.
