Pros

Excellent potential, lots of interesting projects, relatively good work conditions (aka free coffee...) Excellent place for worry-free 8 to 4 coders / drones.

Cons

Awful management, policies, politics, over-administration, lack of opportunities, low level of autonomy, impossible to innovate, etc ... Typical big business, but in IT and high-tech, which is even worst. 5 years old laptops to work on, no access to the IT infrastructure, no money to buy IT gear, security enforcement that prevent using basic tools, megabit Internet at work for 50 employees... You have to be patient. Open space at most sites. And sometimes, REALLY open space, like 50 peoples in the same room, no separations. Did I mentioned the management? If I say the "highest level of incompetence", does that cue enough what I mean? Give someone 1 million, he will find a way to spend it. Give someone else the mission to do something worth 1 million, he will be able to build a complete program and will get the company more than the initial investment. Find the one that you prefer, replace your manager. If you are not into coding full time (aka "Digital Thales" ), look elsewhere. Maybe you'll get something in aero at Montreal, but for the rest of their locations in Canada, you'll be stuck on a chair. And if you happen to not have to code, it's because you are the one that need to count the money, the time, and ask around (or beg) for a project that still have money (like 5k) that you can absorb to let you work. No kidding: PhD are looking for innovations ... in grants mechanisms and shady financial "arrangements". You want to get better, change career, move elsewhere in the world? Just forget it, it costs too much. And what happen if you want to be part of the change? The Management will get you back on your chair, ask you to stop mentioning issues ... or fire you. The statu quo is so much more comfortable, isn't it? Especially when money flows with the AI buzzword: keep hiring, keep putting our head in the sand. Something will emerge of all that ... until we're retired.

Pros

- Chill work environment (which may be a con) - Flexible work hours in my team - Three weeks vacation + time off during Christmas - Free shuttle bus

Cons

- Open Concept Office - On the lower end of the salary spectrum - Older tech stack - A lot of politics - A glass ceiling if you are not French - Mismanaged projects - High turn-over rate - Employees are losing morale due to bad management decisions and recent safety incidents - TERRIBLE cafeteria - A lot of incompetent employees due to nepotism

Pros

The employees are very friendly and nice

Cons

The management (mainly the French) and HR are horrible (understatement), very disconnected, the work atmosphere is bad, looking to put the blame on everyone, old fashion, not willing to improve processes within the organisation, it seams like the company is divided into 2 (employees from France and Australia)
