Pros

-Great support from management as you navigate the public school system and teaching in general. -Great pride in work you do. -Excellent opportunities if and when you decide to leave the Corps at TFA and elsewhere. -Great training and development in first year.

Cons

-Very, very long hours. -Lower pay than your equally-educated, fewer-hours-working friends. -Sometimes poor working conditions (under-served, run-down schools). -Bad school leaders (Principals, etc.) to deal with who should be cycled out of the system.

Pros

great coworkers that act more like your friends than anything else. Good way into a career in higher education if that's something you're interested in.

Cons

The work can be a little tedious at times if you aren't completely dedicated to the mission of the organization.
