Pros

Pushes you to overcome challenges, get to work with other young, inspiring individuals. Pushes corps members (CMs) to see the reality of our school systems today and build leadership skills.

Cons

Can be a bit of arrogance and a lot of pressure to conform to the TFA perspective on the "right" way to create ed reform (big on charter schools and high stakes testing). Sometimes, it seems that there is a larger focus is on what makes TFA look good so it can lobby effectively to expand, even as many teaching jobs in TFA regions are cut, instead of what is actually good for the students and schools.

Pros

- huge alumni base, great reputation, amazing experience, chance to fundamentally change the lives of students you care about, polish your management & leadership skills, invaluable look of the education situation in the US

Cons

incredibly steep learning curve that will challenge you tremendously, your MTLD (Manager of teacher leadership & development) is hit & miss, extreme frustration
