Pros

Everyone believes in the mission, that one day all children will have access to excellent education. My regional office’s culture was color and upbeat, community is diverse, and folks are collegial. Employee mental health and wellbeing was also always a priority.

Cons

There is lack of transparency on compensation and it isn’t at par with the market, and there is little to no wiggle room on conversations around/on receiving appraisals. Growth opportunities are quite limited too.

Pros

Mostly great people to work with depending on what team you are on. Flexibility and benefits are good. The newer executive leaders seem promising. Good core values and mission.

Cons

CEO seems to operate based on fear and has displayed an inability to relate to staff members. The executive leaders who have been there for many years do not inspire confidence. Layoffs almost every single year. Leadership doesn't always live into our values.

Some good msart people work here

Cons

Constant lay-offs and firing, annual restructures, non-transparent promotions, inept and dishonest management, inequitable, unfair work expecations if you are single or without children. After many years here, I have virtually nothing good to say.
