      Use TCS as a stepping stone if you have no better option

      Pros

      It is hard to think of 'best' reasons other than it being a stepping stone to better opportunities.

      Cons

      Worst HR Dept you can imagine. You can expect no response to your emails or phone calls, and this applies to all levels of the organization (not just HR). It is part of the culture. Compensation is much lower than peers, lack of transperancy in performance reviews, quality of management in some organizational units is of surprisingly low standards.

      Pros

      I started my job as a trainee with this company. Now it has been 5 years working for the same. There were many instances when I thought I should quit and look for some better opportunities sometimes in terms of money and some times in terms of quality of work. Now I have realized that this company has plethora of opportunities available, you just need to give little time. After 5 years I could have gone into any stream of IT business, whether its Project Management, Sales or Business Analyst.

      Cons

      They started looking for quantity rather than quality. Every cat and dog comes to TCS. The quality of recruitment process has gone down terribly low. When I entered the company, we had put lots of efforts to enter into the company, but now there were so many quality less people that it becomes difficult to reflect the good image of the company.

      Pros

      Good place for a start of a career but never stick to this place for more than couple of years.

      Cons

      Middle Management full of low performers who have no idea what they are doing. Looks like they are running another Taliban regime. HR Dept has a liason with Management and have no idea what Human resources mean. Policies of this company are the worst in the modern corporate world.
