Pros

8 week training over every system you will use and some you don't use in certain pyramids. Throughout the year there are refresher trainings lead by IMOps and are open to all seniority of IAs. Depending on the business you gain extensive exposure to leaders and CFTs across the company.

Cons

Base pay and benefits could be a lot better and there's very little wiggle room for negotiation. The biggest con is finding your next role. Manager support is either one that fully supports you and your development by introducing you to key contacts and/or providing interview guides or nothing at all and purposely holds you in the position because you've been typecasted. Moving to a new role is entirely bureaucratic and depends on who you know and not what you know. There is also a general stigma of apparel analyst's 'not being smart enough to excel in an IMOps position'. This was stated by a hiring director who then chose a previous analyst they managed from their pyramid. Depending on the manager you are either told what to do according to best method or you can pave your own path. Overall the company is not prioritizing internal talent and is going external for nearly every position. IAs are constantly scrutinized by their planning and merchandise peers and have to answer the same questions week over week because partners don't want to fully understand how the supply chain/delays work.

Pros

Great pay, great schedule, that's about it.

Cons

Let's just put it like this; in the beginning, everything is all nice and sweet. Senior Ops Managers "are there to support you". Well, that all goes down the drain when you are placed in a Performance Improvement Plan without solid reasons. You do your best, work on the areas that you need to work in, and then you are let go, still without any solid reasons as to why. The Sr. Ops Managers in this place are a joke and they use their title instead of their brains. Learn how you teach your people instead of having Ops Managers that are about to leave teach them.
