Pros

You get a Team member discount.

Cons

-Raising team member pay then cutting hours to make up for it, which also means cutting benefits. -An overload of tasks with not nearly enough time and staff to get done. -Cuts corners all over the store to save payroll. -Execs don't help at all. They sit in their office most of the time or complain to your TL you're not working hard enough, which then your TL comes to you. -None of your previous raises carry over when they increase base pay. So at a certain point you'll make just pennies more than a brand new hire. On top of that, the amount you get for raises have been significantly reduced. Favoritism can influence raises as well. -Many male executives will use their status to influence younger, inexperienced females and try to groom them.

Not for everyone

Pros

- decent salary - lots of resources due to scale of company - good vacation and PTO policies - flexibile WFH arrangements

Cons

- Most employees are "lifers" and have no experience outside of Target to bring to the table, very limited understanding of wider retail industry/trends - Be wary if you're a person of color or LGBTQ+, micro-agressions are very frequent. They don't mean harm but it's a company/department of mainly privileged white women from the Midwest—it will wear you down over time to witness how they handle DEI initiatives and conversations. - Things are hyper corporate, formal, and SLOW. Change/pivots come too late or not at all. Very siloed. - Have witnessed and heard stories of workplace bullying. Most teams are great but some are very toxic.

Good work life balance

Pros

1. Work life balance is pretty good. No one will ask you to work after 5 or 6 in the evening and no one gonna question you even if you login at 11AM. 2. You will have the opportunity to explore new things and stuff. But we need to make sure we ask our managers. Unless we ask there is no way we gonna learn stuff. 3. Managers are friendly.

Cons

1. Growth is something we need to earn. Only if we can showcase our skills we will be paid better. Sometimes even if you work hard it's our responsibility to showcase the work that we have done. Else we will not be recognized by our managers though if we do some excellent stuff.
