Pros

The managers/directors really work hard to encourage modern tech culture of self-managed teams, fail-fast, engineers-make-the-engineering-decisions kind of organization. Most of the people I worked with were very transparent and genuine and encouraged you to speak your mind; not a lot of red tape or petty politics. Really invest in their engineers: 50 days a year to be used on whatever career development learning you want do. Even when they,ve had massive outages/bugs in production, I've never seen anyone blamed or fired for an well-intentioned mistake discovered in a post-mortem.

Cons

Still an old company with some legacy artifacts. A few backend business functions still rely on IBM Mainframe, VB, SOAP requests etc. Only every now and then did I hear crap like "but we've done it this way for 10 years".

Pros

Higher pay Organized company Impressive at first glance

Cons

*Work on most holidays *Benefits kick in after 90 days *Two weeks starting vacation *No bonuses for non-exempt *Admins are not seen as part of the overall group, thus being non-exempt and not included in bonuses. *Management has you sit in a lot of unnecessary meetings, where you could be more productive elsewhere. *Set up to fail

Pros

Coworkers were very nice and some of the management was nice. There are no uniforms really and you can have your cellphone on the floor. You also get to set your own breaks.

Cons

Little training, they overload team members with work everyday and management makes you feel incompetent if you can’t complete the impossible amount of work assigned. They say you get 3 breaks during an 8 hour shift but they pile so much daily work on you, you can’t take all three breaks or even two breaks most of the time. The store manager is out of touch with what team members are up against and frequently makes their work harder. Target used to care about their team members but ever since they started paying 13.00 they’ve eliminated job titles and just piled on more work for the existing team members. Honestly 13.00 is just not worth being set up for failure EVERY SINGLE DAY.
