Pros

THey have a great learning program for new students fresh out of college. There retention of employees and management is non heard of. I entered the company with 30 other college grads and i was the second to last to go. Its basically a revolving door and you are expected to work 80 hours a week on the down low while being salaried and there main words are your young you can handle it. I loved the opportunity fresh out of college. however now that i think about it, I would probably try to find something else that was better.

Cons

Like i said above they downsides of working for target was that you have no social life after a while. You are expected to work 80 hour days and because your young you should just deal with it. There is really no room for advancement since all the store managers are in there 50's and 60's and are pretty much holding stagnant till they retire. The store managers sit in there office all day and the only time you ever see them is when a district manager comes around or if something that might affect them is brought to their attention

Pros

Discounts and stress free (mentally). Brain dead job in lower ladder of the the job triangle. Some of the people are great to work with (very friendly). Pretty organized- in a sense of team work.

Cons

The pay is low. Alot of exercise (walking and standing the whole day besides your 15 minute breaks every 2 hours of work). Rude customers (one of those days). Some employees take advantage of other employees doing less work with same pay. AND OF COURSE the BIG ISSUE of ALL JOBS is POLITICS. you will have to BROWN NOISE, KISS A$$, you've heard it all.

Pros

Well, it's nice and laid back for the most part. Everyone seems to get along pretty well. Also, if you pay attention to the merchandise, you can find some really good clearance deals. The stores seem fairly clean, I haven't had any problems in that regard. It's generally OK.

Cons

They don't pay nearly enough. I would like more hours, but unfortunately (sign of the times) they keep trying to reduce the hours for all the employees and keep the payroll in check. Oh well. Also, I want full time hours so I can get proper medical/dental/vision benefits...that doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
