Pros

Its a good place to earn extra cash, or a second income. Students and parents, elderly have a fairly easy time with scheduling by choosing an availability. Breaks and lunches are adhered to strictly.

Cons

I pity those trying to raise a family on the meger hourly wages-also you shouldnt expect a lot of pity if you get sick. In order to claim your sick pay you must report to work for half of your shift and only then can you request an LOD to determine if you are sick enough to go home with pay. My last reiview was glowing, they couldnt find a thing wrong with my performance. I was was rewarded with .13 cents an hour, for a whopping 9.64 an hour. The benefits are laughable. No one can afford to go to the doctor that is covered by Target. Also they time the cashiers and stress speed, but at the same time force them to sell credit cards to guests. In this economy? Shame !! Target is wasteful. The service desk does not recycle plastic bags, hundreds go into the garbage everyday at my station alone! The photo lab throws its chemicals down the drain. We are a mile away from a salmon fish hatchery. This really really irks me, Target is a big Green washer.

Pros

Well most of the people you work with arent so bad, you get along with other team members the longer you are there. Its a very organized company, the stores are very detailed in a certain layout that we follow.

Cons

If you work at a store where your store management is not good then thats where the problem starts. You are constantly called to backup for the front lanes, the walkies are a joke, all you hear is static and people talking over others. During the summer it gets so hot you feel you are about to sweat but thats just my store.

Pros

Target is a company that is continuously growing, therefore opportunities are steadily becoming available. Although Target will probably never be as successful as Walmart, the company has positioned itself quite well as a competitor. I appreciate Target's willingness to allow team members to gain experience in different positions within the company. My boss has been with the company for a little over ten years, and she has held quite a few positions. There are several people who have been with the company for several years, so that says a lot about the company. For those who enjoy the retail industry, they may enjoy Target.

Cons

Management doesn't seem to understand work/life balance. They make it very difficult for team members to take time off. During peak seasons of the year, they are known for scheduling team members outside of their availability. In my particular store, I notice a lot of favoritism as well. I also notice a lot of underhanded, sneaky things that managers engage in. Team members have gotten fired for next to nothing simply because they weren't management's favorite. Turnaround is high at my store not because team members dislike their job duties but because they dislike management and how management tends to not lead by example.
