Pros

If you prefer a job that is in retail and like to work 50 hour weeks then target is the company for you. Granted there is a ton of training you must go through at the beginning. Plus the company would like to see you grow. The culture is great depending on the store assignment and the area of town the employees come from.

Cons

READ THE FINE PRINT. The bonus is based on performance. They say you could get up to a certain amount but that is if you perfect in every way. NO one has ever achieved that level. To jump up a pay grade is even harder. Courses you must take and the hoops you must jump through are impossible. Another down side is the 50 hour weeks you must work. Also you get better discounts with coupons than the employee discount.

Pros

We are a "Fast, Fun, and Friendly" team. Everyone is easy to talk to and friendly. The management is great and helpful. Target is also VERY good with working around schedules so it is a great place for students to earn a little income. If you are planning on moving up the ladder in promotions, the executive team leaders are supportive in making you succeed.

Cons

The work/pay ratio is kinda low. Annual reviews only provide .10 to .50 cent increases.

Pros

If you're looking for large, retail experience, then Target is one of the few out there. However, expect frustration and an overly managed environment that actually stifles progress and inflates budgets.

Cons

Very little actual accountability within the group I was working in. Within twelve months, four different managers were involved with the group. Each with at least several years of experience within Target and yet they had very little ability to communicate ideas, deal with conflict, adhere to timelines and budgets, etc. In short, the group that I was exposed to was very sub par compared to other companies that I've been involved with.
