Pros

*Fellow team members are nice and fun to work with. *The discount is fair. *Getting time off is pretty easy to do compared to other places. *You can get a lot of hours if you want to.

Cons

*Management doesn't really know what's going on with the lower level employees out on the floor.. They only see numbers and not effort. *You hardly ever get praised for hard work and effort and almost always get an earful when you make a mistake. *Some of the Team Leads get a sense of superiority because of their position and let you know all the time that think they're much more competent, skilled, important, intelligent, etc etc all the time. *Training should be a bit more in-depth, after the cashier portion of training (my position was sales floor keep in mind) I felt like I should have had better training when it came out of the ordinary forms of payment from customers. *You don't really feel like you're worth anything when it comes down to it and the snacks and cakes they occasionally give make you feel like they're just trying to smooth over any resentment toward the company or employees with treats. *Customers are rude. They think they know everything and you're an idiot even though they expect you to know everything about everything in your store. You wouldn't believe how many times customers didn't know that there were signs above grocery telling them where stuff was located..

Pros

Pay is on time, the closing group works together to close the store. Store is clean, peers are friendly and easy to work with.

Cons

Coworkers who have been with the company tend to be overbearing, and over step their boundaries. Management knows about issues, but looks the other way. Leadership team often talks openly about team members in break room with other team members. Scheduling to close then open the next day with less than 8 hours between shifts....travel time isn't a consideration, and neither is a work/life balance. Crew working during the day may not set the closing crew up for success.

There isn't an I in TEAM

Pros

In most departments, the TEAM co-workers are fine to work with. You are support for one another, b/c you understand each others issues. For the most part, middle management listens to issues and tries to work things out for all involved. Payscale is better than most other major retailers.

Cons

Hours are not predictable. Upper mgt. is not available like the "open door" policy states. Whatever works best for them is what transpires...NOT whatever is best for the TEAM. Despite "meetings," where one can voice his/her opinion, not much is accomplished towards the TEAM goal. If it isn't the upper mgt problem...the situation gets swept under the rug and ignored.
