Pros

If you have a side business or are having a baby or need a job - not a career, on the other hand if you can suck up - you grow well in the org irrespective of performance

Cons

Confused and weak management - keeps structuring and restructuring the organization. No growth path at most of the areas, just multiple layers, keep someone up above happy ( could be movie tickets for a local lingo movie) and you could keep growing. Waste talent, no value to past experience, its just tactical thinking - no long term strategy, been in India for so long and not really regarded as anything of substance in local market. They gave me an offer letter over email and took 2 months after joining to hand me a hard copy of the offer letter with a wrong designation, and as per discussions HR was to get my notice pay approved and paid for after 2 months of followup conveniently blamed it on the then VP / director just stating they did not approve, and of course they kept on asking for a copy of my papers ( offer letter) as they had misplaced mine. They conveniently hire consulting firms for due diligence of initiatives and then the sad part is when they get a feedback stating weak management, they do not share it down, of course not even the good stuff - it's like , my chair, i gotta guard it. It;s just an organization which is top heavy, all guarding their seats, no genuine work or value, talks, words and fluff. Not to mention senior managers asking you which state are you from and asking you to move to areas managed by managers of your state. Worst is last year they laid off lots of folks , and the funnier part is even layoff packages had discrepancies in tax deductions and the ever efficient finance teams could not even send out proper calculation sheets befitting a corporate.
