Pros

no pros of working here

Cons

Team Leads refuse to help you when you need it, or talk to an angry customer, no communication. The system crashes on a daily basis & has a ton of pop ups that make it take 20 minutes to login. They say we aren't scripted & don't want us to be, but you are required to say several disclosures or you will fail a call. This specific Teletech hired too many people & there's sometimes no seating available to do your job. You are not allowed to have any type of paper to draw on, not allowed to read a book or color to entertain yourself, you might take 2 calls an hour. Other coworkers being severely loud and rude while your on the phone with a member, you can barely hear your member speaking. Worked in the credit card department, members got very upset about payment holds & various other stupid rules ( aka this will make you lose members) . They don't accept hospital excuses for any time your sick. I've never worked at any company that refuses a doctors excuse. I was approved for days I was sick called VTO, then got wrote up ( Verbal warning) saying to acknowledge the days were unexcused.. They weren't unexcused I was in the hospital! This is the most childish & petty job I've ever worked at. This job will make you dead inside, sitting in a small cubicle for 8-10 hours playing with your thumbs. Don't work here if your energetic & are used to being on the run. Talked with actual manager about advancement opportunities, he always said I'll be in touch with you this week (never did). I offered to give up my job search to advance with this company, they tell you what you want to hear so you leave their office. I wanted advancement so I didn't have to sit in one area for 10 hours. You are timed for your short breaks if you get them, if you aren't back in that seat in 15 minutes you will get wrote up. It's bad when you are sick/ have stomach problems. You are only paid if you are in your seat at your desk, if you're a heavy smoker or need to go to the bathroom forget working here. You are required to change your password on several programs you use every 30 days, which made me forget them easily. This company in credit cards had a severe issue with fraud. benefits are too expensive with a high deductible to meet. You are in a training class for 3+ weeks that doesn't teach you anything & are thrown on phones not knowing what to say or do, makes you want to quit your first day. I'm most likely missing more but those are things that are severe cons with this place.

We apologize that your experience with TeleTech didn't match our reputation as a great company to work at. We'll definitely remind the team leads to help out specially during escalations. As for the system issues, we're working on it to make the work experience better. If you had issues before, I hope you were able to reach out to your supervisor about these - breaks, VTO, leaves, etc. as he or she is the best person to help you regarding these. We've taken note of everything you mentioned here and we appreciate your feedback. Thank you once again and we wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Decent starting job Will hire just about anybody

Cons

Once you get paid your hourly wage, that's it. There are no reviews, no potential to move further up in the company, and definitely no raises. Your schedule can vary wildly, even from day to day, with no chance of permanency. The company takes every opportunity to save a few dollars. Even going so far as to no longer provide sanitizing wipes for the disgusting desks on the call floor. They have continuously gone back on things they have implemented in the past. For example, the company once asked employees to donate so that they could implement permanent dress down. The donation goal was reached, and employees were able to dress down (jeans and t-shirt, for example). However, not 2 years later they reverted the change and reinforced business casual thus taking the employees precious little money for seemingly no reason at all. Or how about the fact that they recently started to implement tenured raises for employees who stuck around long enough to earn them. It was supposed to be an additional $0.50 an hour for every year you have worked there. It was promised to be implemented in October of 2016. However, as of today (February 2017) I have been there for 3 and a half years and still do not have this "promised" raise.

Thanks for the feedback! It's good to know you enjoyed the benefits and liked the people you worked with at TeleTech. It's the unfortunate side of any business - when the company decides to cutback on business operations. Generally speaking, TeleTech is actually growing with the recent acquisitions of Atelka in Canada and the multiple sites in the Philippines and North America. Thanks again for the review and we wish you success in your future endeavors!
