      Needs Serious Organizational Structure

      Pros

      Good benefits, competitive with other companies in the area. Great Pay, but you have to know your worth or they will rob you. Flexible schedules, understanding co-workers and great products. TE has some of the best medical device solutions and patents - but will soon become a "has been" (if it already hasnt become one) because of middle, senior and executive management decisions

      Cons

      Yearly lay-offs and RIFs. Re-Orgs and lack of cohesive planning and strategy has left the Portland/Watsonville campus deteriorated. There are NPI and Operations projects struggling to get adequate engineering support while the middle management layer is very heavy. The "plans" are great - the reality is grim.

      Rotation Program makes for well-rounded exploration of the business structure and manufacturing processes Some operators, supervisors, planners, and administration personnel have decades of experience: wealth of knowledge Flexible time off and working hours I had the opportunity to work in 4 different cities (including another country) within the first 2 years of my career there

      Hostile/combative work environment (especially in meetings) Department silos Adversity to innovation Adversity to teamwork Uneducated engineer team (mostly operators that moved up the career ladder) "Ends justify the means" culture "If it isn't broken, don't fix it" culture

      Some managers are okay to work with.

      Cons

      Corporate management is out of touch. Head managers are stressed by corporate. Clear lack of direction. Too much focus on cutting costs.
