Pros

Good work life balance, great start to your career and a great place to learn. There is a wealth of skilled employees who are very knowledgeable which you can learn a lot from.

Cons

It seems as though there is an endless corporate hierarchy because of TD's immense size. I felt as though there were way too many senior managers getting paid too much when all of the little guys aren't getting their fair share.

Pros

As a continued practice carried over from Commerce Bank, CSRs are expected to be knowledgeable in a variety of subjects, including business products, loans and mortgages, and they are now expanding to include investment and insurance products. You will have to be a jack of all trades.

Cons

The pay is ridiculously low as compared to counterparts at other financial institutions (again, a carryover from Commerce). However, the corporate culture of TD is not one that focuses on having fun and entertaining and engaging our Customers. It's more of a rigid, stereotypical banking culture. Promotions are nonexistent. The CASH Program, designed by Commerce to facilitate the education and training of employees chosen for advancement, is in shambles. Regional management fails to address work-related issues presented to them by employees. HR practices discrimination in enforcing company policies, failing to dismiss certain employees due to gender and race even with documented causes from Supervisors and Management; HR prefers to move those Supervisors and Management to other locations in order to silence those who they view as troublemakers.

Pros

Loved the people that I worked with. I was lucky to have a great management team that always had my back! Staff was great for the exception of 2 or 3. If you know your stuff well and make it VERY CLEAR of what you want to do with the company the chances of being promoted are high.

Cons

My life was my job. I worked 10+ hrs a day sometimes without breaks and also worked many weekends and holidays. The pay did not balance out with the amount of work we had to do. Way to many reports to do.Penny Arcade alone was a pain on grand days. Th region is corrupt. Senior management has their favorites. Those are the ones that get away with MURDER. Instead of being terminated for their wrong doings they get promoted. Communication and consistency was horrible. Things would change all the time. Many of the managers and supervisors do not deserve to be where they are.
