Great branch, poor corporate HR
Pros
Very fun branch atmosphere, thanks to the managers. Good balance of silly and serious behind the scenes, while maintaining the integrity and care the customer requires from their bank. They were paying for me to get my IFIC license, which was awesome and had plans to move me up the ladder. Safe to say growth is rewarded for the ambitious at TD.
Cons
Was let go for apparently "misrepresenting myself during the hiring process." The initial contact I had with a recruiter led to me losing the long-term career I had intended to have at TD (as a soon-to-be graduating finance student pursuing CFP). The recruiter did not write down in his notes that I was terminated from an on-call job 2 years prior, so 6 months into my satisfactory employment, someone from HR flagged that as me misrepresenting myself, although I disclosed it to the recruiter, and in much greater detail to the person I video interviewed with. The recording of that should have been considered, but when the only way to fight for my job was through their internal HR processes, it is no wonder it did not go my way.
