Pros

- big name in the industry. Can open doors for opportunities after having worked at Swiss Re - Impressive proprietary tools - Some retired or close to retirement employees passed on useful knowledge - Sabbatical program is attractive

Cons

- Uninspiring place to work - poor management locally in region, countrywide, and from Zurich - Senior management is untrustworthy - Senior management is an echo chamber of Yes Men - was not a valued employee and was underpaid - all discussions asking for guidance or change fell on deaf ears. - peers were set up to compete against each other. Manager had clear favorites. Even when favorites behaved poorly (either blatant disrespect of other colleagues/rules or reckless underwriting), the favorites continued to get preferential treatment.

Pros

Good pay when you join. Good training programs. Pioneer in the insurance industry. Good medical insurance for family.

Cons

Harassment is very prevalent. Onshore opportunities are less for lower levels. There’s lots of politics especially in p&c bm. Employees are not allowed to take their leaves or work from home by their managers though organisation advocates the opposite. There is no whistleblowing helpline where people can report their issues. Hr never comes to talk to people. P&c bm currently lacks leader to steer issues forward and managers are taking advantage of that and harassing employees. Lateral moves are not easy since most people don’t want to take ta ppl.
