No room for growth!

Pros

Employee appreciation day and an employee discount.

Cons

The HR department is a joke, they do nothing. Employees can't really reach out to them for any help, it will make the problem worse. Don't believe anything they tell you. There is no room for growth or movement, your manager has all the power. In this place you are not measured by your work, your worth is all on your manager, if he/ she likes you, you're good, if not you are not getting anywhere. Swatch has lost good employees, they refuse to change their micromanaging ways. There are some 'directors' that have no clue what they are doing and you are expected to follow their lead, ridiculous.

Pros

Good pay for full time for a retail job, can't speak for/against part time Base pay plus commission for non management, and it's a decent commission percentage, especially if the store makes the month You learn management skills at the key holder level, and if you want it and work for it you can move up Fantastic brand DM does care about employees. Mine did anyway, can't speak for the rest.

Cons

Timely advancement may require relocation if your store management team does well Your experience can vary vastly from store to store. But to be fair that can happen at any mall retail company Metric goals can be hard to reach if your store does a lot of service (bands, batteries, etc)

Good experience on marketing

Pros

Valuable experience on learning how to market a product. Swatch is a very interesting business idea itself. And it is a very successful company in using marketing tools in an effective way.

Cons

Their best years are behind because of the limited watch usage in recent years with the introduction of mobile phones in mid 90s. But still they are there in the market. One of the most creative products of the history.
