Pros

Discount? ummm...thats about it.

Cons

This company is very disorganized from the top down. When I was hired as a Assistant Manager there were 0 hours for my training. This company is very policy driven. If you ask why and question how things are done, you will not be given an answer. There is no room for free thought. There is a lack of loyalty in this company. In my city alone with 3 stores, 3 assistant managers and 2 store managers left within the last 3 months. This company could be a great place to work but there lack of vision which will cause good managers to leave. Its a shame to see such great managers treated like mindless robots and should just produce without a leadership. There is no culture at this company. Just reports, negative feedback and disappointment. Again heed the advise of others and do not apply.

Pros

Generous discount, Good Core Products, Good incentives from vendors, good return policy.

Cons

Sur la table is disorganized and it shows from executive mgmt down to the store level. The directions from coprorate come last minute and are not communicated effectively to those who work at the store level. If you are able to find direction on your own, you are lucky. District management is also inconsistent and "leads" through negative feed back and harassing unprofessional statements. There is a lack of resect and common courtesy that is shown, again, from the top down. The stores are a disorganized mess, with tiny back rooms and sku assortments that are out of control. Purchases are made just to be marked down not long after. Tasking is not supported by payroll, but is necessary. I have been in retail many years and would never reccommend Sur la table.
