Pros

Honestly it's hard for me to distinguish pros to working for this company. The employee discount is nice, and depending on your position there are a lot of awesome people to work with at the store level. As far as the company goes Sur La Table is your typical corporate monster.

Cons

Typical corporate monster, regional/corporate management is almost non existent, there is little to no training (especially the higher up you go), expectations are vague at best other than sell sell sell of course. My manager was totally ineffective rendering everyone below her that much more ineffective, her favorite problem solving line "you have to push harder". To her credit her hands were tied by those above her. The bottom line is always the most important thing, I've never before seen a company operate in such a wasteful and environmentally UN-friendly manner. They could care less about their employees, people are treated as disposable and replaceable, even when preforming well. Their overall goal is to pay next to nothing, expect to own you, and require the impossible to be produced without adequate support or tools. I'm sure there are those out there that have had a more positive experience with SLT however at the annual leadership conference I found an overwhelming amount of the same experiences I had as opposed to different.
