Pros

If you can allow yourself to not get stressed out by the workload and chaos, you can get away with putting in normal hours.

Cons

Use to be a great place to work before the "merger"(takeover) of Peugeot. Rather than layoff people they are making things as miserable as possible to get people to quit in the US. - Have to do 3+ people's jobs due to being so short staffed - People are leaving in mass and not being replaced - Morale couldn't possibly be any lower - Extreme bureaucracy that makes getting anything done impossible - Low pay compared to rest of industry

Don't Stay Too Long

Pros

Very low stress environment, and there is high confidence in your job security. Many opportunities to shape things in your vision in the software departments.

Cons

Total compensation, especially base salary, is significantly below the current market rate for software engineers. Antiquated ideas about how long an employee needs to stay before being promoted prevents the type of annual growth that one could expect from Tesla, Meta, Google, etc. Departments actively work against each other and there is a culture of secrecy and obfuscation. Most software engineers are hired via contract which provide an unstable pool of resources for management. Most management, teams, and other departments are willfully or unintentionally ignorant about modern software development practices, the demands of working at scale, or thinking about problems in the long term.

Pros

Room for autonomy and creativity in your role

Cons

Processes are constantly changing. There is a lot of non value added work and repetitive tasks. The merger has not been kind to the lower level employees. We are constantly asked to prove the process was done correctly and perform tedious tasks that do not change results. This leads to program delays and employee turn over. At the end of the day, trust that your experienced employees are doing a good job and working in the best interest of the company.
